M&A Evolution

In recent months, worries over the Eurozone crisis, as well as the continued tightening on funding, have thwarted M&A activity.  This uncertainty looks to continue into 2012 due to the economic situation in Europe and the rest of the world.

M&A Evolution is an on-going project, led by Hogan Lovells' Corporate Practice Group, providing insight into the ever changing landscape for M&A deals globally.

This project examines:

  • the impact of the Eurozone crisis on deal activity
  • the obstacles impacting on deal activity in the current market
  • the strategies facilitating deal completion
  • approaches to regulation, valuation and funding
As part of this project Hogan Lovells has produced a joint research paper with the Financial Times. Strategies for the New Deal Landscape is the culmination of individual interviews with 160 board members of multinationals around the world and examines the obstacles impinging deal activity and the strategies that will aid deal completion.  The report contains views on areas of likely growth, regions in which deal activity is planned or may be postponed and thoughts on economic, political and regulatory factors.
